About Me

After 46 years in manufacturing and product engineering it’s time to move on to what’s next? Retirement is really about turning ones focus toward the many new adventures. One promise I made to myself was “do more woodworking”. The time has come to apply my design skills to my wood crafter hobby, now in it’s 38th year.

Since I was a young kid, if you put a piece of wood, hammer, saw, & nails in front of me, something was about to happen. Splinter? Sure Thing, Cuts? Them too! Just part of the fun!

I established my first woodshop back in 1986 in the basement of our Gilford home. After a brief hiatus back in 2009, I started building my current workshop in Penacook, New Hampshire.

My interest in woodturning didn’t really take off until the passing of my father-in-law Dave back in 2016. Dave was an accomplished wood turner and carver, a passion he developed later in his retirement years. When Dave passed, his wood crafting equipment found its way to my shop. After turning a few novelty bats for the grandkids I caught the bug and began to develop my skills.
